Today's jumps races at Bendigo saw 4 races - Trenchtown fell at the 8th jump in race 4. We are pleased he is apparently alright. King of Dudes stumbled after the 11th hurdle and dislodged his rider - it appears both have passed a health check.
While these horses have dodged a bullet today, we are under no illusion that their future will be a bullet. If they are not killed on the track, they are likely to be injured (and killed) during trials. If they survive these obstacles they end up at the knackery anyway once they cease to run fast enough to earn enough money for their owners. Because the racing industry love their horses... to death.
There is no fair go for horses in this industry. We will not stop until jumps racing is banned.
