Many students, including myself, have found IXL to be a source of stress and anxiety, rather than a tool for learning and enrichment.

It emphasizes repetitive practice and punishes mistakes by significantly lowering the score, regardless of overall progress. Instead, it can create a sense of defeat and inadequacy in students, especially those who may already struggle in certain subjects.

Moreover, studies have shown that excessive use of digital learning platforms like IXL can actually impede learning. According to educational experts, students learn best through a mix of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic experiences – something that IXL's predominantly text-based interface fails to provide. A study from Stanford University highlighted that students achieve better academic outcomes when they engage with varied teaching methods rather than relying solely on software.
