Today the EBU released a statement saying that all Palestinian flags are banned from the arena in Malmo during the Eurovision Song Contest. 

They also stated that every flag from countries not participating are banned, as well as other handwritten signs with political statements.

They did say that rainbow flags are ok thou, still pink washing the fuck out of the gay community to protect Israel’s “good name”.

So if you are a Palestinian activist going to the festival. Wear black, red, white and green. Because the colors are not prohibited….yet.

But what’s to expect when Israel is running the whole thing.

Free and independent media are vital elements to the infrastructure of a healthy democracy and public service media (PSM) play a key role in this landscape, as a stable and reliable source of information. They inform the public, keep those in power accountable, create a platform for debate, and tell stories that contribute to a common culture. 

However, in today's democratically challenged and market-driven landscape, public broadcasters are increasingly asked to justify their value to society. 

Can this be measured? Or to what extent does PSM have a positive impact on the health of democracies?

So free and independent doesn’t apply, and value to society, not so much, especially if you are Palestinian.
The EBU continues to show us all that the white privileged men and women’s rights are the only rights they care for.

The democratic world the EBU want to strive for does not include brown skinned and brown eyed children killed by thousands by Israel…

They want to “protect” their viewers from being reminded of the suffering Israel is inflicting on millions of human beings, mothers, fathers, elders, toddlers and unborn babies.

All they care for is protecting Israel’s image. And THAT my friends should be a clear message to all public broadcasters that are being associated with the EBU, that the freedom of speech for citizens in the EU is being dictated by Israel now? Scary, very scary. And if you ask me, a clear indication on that we are living in some serious dark times. 

When governments start to take action against freedom of speech. We are in deep trouble indeed.

Remember this when it’s time to vote. Time to protect the core democratic values. The REAL freedom of speech, not just for white privileged zionists.
