We are growing fast right now! The topic of banning Israel from Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is engaging people from all over the world! As it should!!

As of today we have over:

29,000+ signatures

186,328 petition views (INSANE, they love to hate us?)

16,279 petition shares (THANK YOU)

483 promoters who has spent SEK 38,221 of their own personal money!

But still.... The European Broadcasting Union remains with their very biased standpoint that "Israel is not breaking any rules and can join ESC in Malmoe". Sick and tired of the sound of that broken record.

Funny (peculiar) that on EBU´s homepage Noel Currans picture and presentation as the director general says, and I quote.

"'Public service media is the bedrock of democratic societies. Our role is to champion its values and ensure our Members are able to continue to play a vital role in European culture, society and public discourse.'"

Noel Curran

End quote.

On the same page it also says:

"At the EBU, we strive to secure a sustainable future for public service media. We provide our Members with world-class content from news to sports and music, and build on our founding ethos of solidarity and co-operation to create a centre for learning and sharing."

Hmmmmmm, you know when you realize that perhaps ( I am making assumptions here) the whole reason WHY media in Europe and around the world has an EXTREMELY one sided and biased reporting from what they continuously refer to as "the war between Israel and Hamas" that the rest of us call the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West bank, is due to that the EBU has their only news source of the conflict coming straight from Israel?

Oh how democratic, for who? To whom does these democratic values apply?

If I was a journalist, I would be ashamed, copy pasting quotes and statements straight from the oppressor. Not even ONCE take the time to fact check, make their own evaluations and dig just a little deeper??

Shame on all who swallow and never spit...Thats all i have to say.

Back to Eurovision Song Contest:

So, as of today it seems as if the only way to make an impact and change the outcome of ESC 2024, is to demand/ask for the regional participating countries (Broadcasters) not to send their winners to Malmoe. Stay at home. Have the competition "inhouse", celebrate the winner, and skip sending them to Eurovision.

That would make a statement, and do you know what else? It would also save the broadcaster money.. Skip the fee you have to pay to participate in ESC 2024.

I read somewhere that there is an increase in the fee for 2024, the first increase of the fee started when Russia left (a whole lot of money went out the door there) and I am almost certain that the added security for Israels participation in Malmoe will add some serious euros to the cost.

I have read that the fee to participate in the ESC goes from between 75,000 euros to 500,000 euros depending on how big the broadcasting network sending it´s participant is.

What if? (I am dreaming and brainstorming here) The countries who waived their participation in ESC 2024, took the money they saved and sent them to UNRWA instead?? Huh? Wouldn´t that be something my friends!

A girl’s allowed to dream, isn´t she?

Regardless, THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who lend your name to this petition and share it, support it and give me, and many more hope about humanity, during a time that really feels like a episode of the Netflix series Black Mirror.. Pure horror, devastation and hopelessness are regular feelings on a daily basis since the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank started and continues.

Respectfully/Lotta
