Dear supporters,
I am thrilled to announce that we have reached our goal: online proctoring is no longer required for exams at the University of Utah! After raising awareness about the predatory and invasive nature of online proctoring software, engaging with university leadership, and pushing for alternatives, I can confidently say that all of my classes have opted for in-person exams this semester instead of relying on invasive proctoring software.
This victory would not have been possible without your support. By signing this petition and spreading the word, we have made university leaders aware of this issue. The administration listened to our concerns and took action.
Why this matters:
- Students can now take their exams without giving up their right to privacy or dealing with unreliable, predatory software
- Our victory shows that student advocacy can make a positive difference
- This decision not only benefits us right now but also sets a precedent for future semesters
Once again, I want to thank you for supporting the effort to make this happen, and know that your support made a real difference. Student voices matter, and we have proven that we can use our voices to influence decisions that benefit our academic experience.
Best regards,
Eric Sheffer
