Ban housing minister from investing in the housing market in Canada.

Ban housing minister from investing in the housing market in Canada.
The Issue
Housing has become unaffordable for the majority of Canadians due to big corporations' investments, which has led to higher housing prices. As Canadians, we expect our elected members to take all necessary steps to ease this burden on Canadians.
The higher housing prices have not only led to the majority of Canadians renting long-term but also increased rental costs substantially high. This excessive rental cost has led to a decrease in the quality of life for most Canadians, especially the younger generation. For comparison, I have included a graph representing the housing price increase between the U.S.A and Canada.
Our housing minister, Ahmed Hussen, is responsible for making regulations to bring the housing market back to affordable levels for middle-class Canadians; however, he himself has investments in rental properties. So, he profits from higher housing prices and has a conflict of interest in taking necessary steps to bring the prices down.
I recommend that we should ban the housing minister, and any other government official, who has such a conflict of interest in investing in real estate property while holding office. If we can't control this now, house ownership would become just a dream for the future generation.
