I personally find Homeowner Associations (HOAs) as unrepresentative of American values and principles. HOAs, in their current form, have many flaws that can result in a wide array of conflicts, from consumer complaints to legal disputes. As per the Consumer Federation of America, HOA related disputes rank high among consumer complaints, indicating the widespread dissatisfaction with this model (Source: Consumer Federation of America, 2020). We need to profoundly rethink this system to ensure that it aligns with our values. We must shift the power back to homeowners. The first step towards this is to outlaw HOAs across America, ensuring they can no longer exert control over American homes.
