Ban Harmful Supplements at Gas Stations and Smoke Shops
The Issue
Video of my first 24 hrs - of quitting and guiding others to do the same.
I’m sharing something deeply personal because I know I’m not alone. About a year and a half ago, I found myself trapped in a cycle of dependency on a synthetic opioid known as 7-Oh. It's readily available at gas stations and smoke shops, which only made it easier for people who were in my shoes to continue it's abuse.
Before 7-Oh, I became dependant on Kratom extracts. Also purchased at gas stations, and smoke shops. Prior to that, Phenibut. You guessed it, also purchased at gas stations and smoke shops. You could say my substance abuse really became a problem almost fifteen years ago, when becoming addicted to a smoke shop purchased synthetic cannibinoid called spice. The most insidious of all, was 7-Oh. Which is currently available on shelves today.
This use spiraled out of control, and became financially and emotionally unsustainable. Buying more than $50 worth every day, I realized how dangerous this seemingly innocent supplement can be. The DEA is aware and pushing for a ban, but we need to act faster.
Imagine walking into your neighborhood gas station or smoke shop and finding harmful products being sold next to everyday items. These places should be safe for everyone, especially those of us trying to recover and rebuild. Quitting isn't easy; last night I couldn't sleep, and my body is already protesting. But sharing this vulnerable part of my journey gives strength not only to me but hopefully to others striving for sobriety.
Restricting the sale of these supplements at such locations can play a crucial role in preventing others from getting trapped. Most of us attempt to quit several times before succeeding, and easy access only fuels this vicious cycle. Our community deserves better safeguards to protect the vulnerable.
Join me in calling for a ban on harmful supplements like 7-Oh at gas stations and smoke shops. By signing this petition, you’re advocating for a healthier, safer community for everyone. Let's make sure no one else has to experience this journey alone. Sign the petition today and help us move toward positive change.
