FULL PETITION TITLE:

 Ban football ownership from nations with limited financial transparency and / or political financial restrictions.

As a Reading FC fan, I am utterly dismayed by the damage Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li’s ownership has done to our club.

The club is shrouded in mystery and each day we hope for an end what has been a turbulent and painful spell under the Dai siblings. 

It has become clear to us that UK football competition organisers cannot possible do the appropriate due diligence on owners who have businesses in certain countries with limited financial transparency.

We are also concerned about governments in protectionist countries who are limiting the amount of money that can be transferred from their country to the UK.

We urge the Government to set up a commission to blacklist prospective owners (taking control of UK-based clubs) who have businesses in countries where competition organisers like the Premier League and the EFL can’t do proper and effective due diligence, and to ban owners from certain countries who limit the amount of money that can be transferred internationally.
