The Issue

I recently took a walk down my street in Wichita, Kansas, to check if a camera near my home was a flock camera. It turned out not to be, just a security camera for a construction site. However, what I discovered shocked me. Our city is filled with hundreds of flock cameras, and they're almost hiding in plain sight. These flock cameras are capable of constant surveillance, capturing our every move in residential areas.

The presence of these cameras raises serious concerns about privacy. Our neighborhoods should be spaces where we feel secure and free, not constantly watched. It's crucial to have effective security, but that shouldn't come at the cost of our privacy. We need to ask ourselves: do we really want to live in a place where our every move could be monitored without our knowledge?

We all value our privacy, and flock cameras in residential areas compromise that. Imagine going for a walk with your family, having a private conversation, or simply enjoying your day, constantly thinking about being watched. That's not the freedom we expect from our community.

It's time to take action and protect our personal privacy by banning flock cameras in Wichita's residential areas. Let's strive for a community where security doesn't mean surveillance, and privacy is a right we all enjoy.

Join me in speaking out against this excessive surveillance in our neighborhoods. Please sign this petition to demand that Wichita officials remove flock cameras from residential areas to safeguard our privacy. Together, we can create a balanced approach to security and privacy.
