It blows my mind every month to see the fate of America’s wild horses—our majestic symbols of freedom—end up at slaughterhouses. Thousands of these incredible animals are shipped off for slaughter in Mexico, where they are turned into meat. This is not the future our wild horses deserve, and it’s a reality that we must change.

Right now, at our sanctuary, we are striving to save as many of these horses as we can. Out of 35 horses, we have managed to secure safety for 12, giving them the life they truly deserve. Sadly, this leaves 23 more who still face a horrific end across the border. We shouldn’t have to constantly fight against this system. A permanent solution is needed.

We are calling to immediately ban the export of wild horses for slaughter to Mexico. This isn't just about the horses we save today—it's about creating systemic change to protect them all in the future. These animals should roam free in their natural habitats, not be shipped off for slaughter. It's time to put a legal ban in place and stop this cruel practice for good.
