The Issue

Imagine taking your dog for a walk on public land — and watching them die in seconds from a hidden poison trap. This isn’t a nightmare. It’s a real danger called an M-44, or "cyanide bomb" — and it’s still being used today on U.S. public lands.

These devices are meant to kill predators like coyotes, but they don’t discriminate. Family pets, endangered animals, and even children have been harmed. In one case, a teenage boy was sprayed with cyanide while walking near his home in Idaho. His dog died instantly.

No one should have to fear deadly chemicals hidden on land that belongs to all of us. That’s why a new bill — the Chemical Poisons Reduction Act of 2025 — aims to ban M-44s on federal lands for good. But this bill won’t pass without public pressure.

Please join us in calling on Congress to support this life-saving legislation. Let’s protect our families, our pets, and our public lands from these cruel and dangerous devices.
