Ban Cruel Puppy Mill Sales in Oklahoma — Protect Innocent Animals and Families
The Issue
Oklahoma has long been one of the worst states in the nation for puppy mills. Commercial breeders operate with little oversight, while pet stores sell their puppies with no disclosure to the public. The result is suffering for dogs, heartbreak for families, and profit for a cruel industry.
Dogs in puppy mills live in wire cages stacked on top of each other, with no access to vet care or socialization. Puppies are often sick, fearful, or genetically compromised — but sold at full price in shiny storefronts.
Eight U.S. states have banned the sale of puppies in retail pet stores. These laws work. They reduce demand for puppy mill dogs and encourage adoption instead.
It’s time for Oklahoma to stop protecting puppy mills.
We call on the Oklahoma State Legislature and Governor Kevin Stitt to pass a statewide ban on the sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in pet stores. This would finally end Oklahoma’s role in the pipeline of cruelty and help move our state forward.
Sign now if you believe every dog deserves more than a cage and a price tag.
