Ban bikes and e-scooters from Bristol pavements

The Issue

Bristol pavements are dangerous for pedestrians because of cyclists and e-scooter riders being permitted to use pavements.  The speed limits on most Bristol roads are 20mph but there are no speed limits on pavements so it's a free for all for cyclists and e-scooter riders.

Following the death of a pensioner in Nottingham who was hit by a 14 year old on a private scooter, it is time for pedestrians to reclaim the pavements. Roads are for cars, bicycles and scooters and pavements are for pedestrians-it really is that simple. It is only a matter of time before there are more deaths or serious injuries.

It is illegal for anyone to cycle on a pavement according to the both section 72 of the highway act and the highway code

Ban cyclists and e-scooters from pavements and fine those who flout the law!
