Hi everyone, About a week ago I asked you all to participate in a survey to determine which politician(s) we should focus on for the future. I was thrilled to see a great amount of you participate in the survey! So without further ado, here are the results for the survey: Minister of Agriculture, Norm Letnick: 29% of the vote Premier Christy Clark: 24% of the vote MLA and Leader of the BC Green Party, Andrew Weaver: 20% of the vote Opposition Spokesperson for Agriculture and Food, Lana Popham: 12% of the vote Leader of the Opposition (BC NDP), John Horgan: 7% of the vote Independent MLA Vicki Huntington: 5% of the vote I was pleasantly surprised to see Andrew Weaver near the top of the list. In my opinion, Andrew is a politician that listens and stands up for less mainstream issues. So since Andrew received such a high percentage of the vote, I decided to follow up on his promise to present our petition in the Legislature. He said he would still absolutely be willing to present our petition in the Legislature. When I asked him about introducing a private members bill (with our petition) to ban battery cages in BC, he said: "I can if I have the time." As for the Premier and Minister of Agriculture (Norm Letnick), I think they are both important figures we need to focus on as well. I believe Norm Letnick is a better choice for us to focus on because he is a LOT less busy. The Premier has every concerned citizen in the province trying to talk to her. However, since many of you voted to focus on her, I will try to get us in contact with her as well. For the time being I plan to have us work to get in contact with Norm Letnick and the Premier, and stay in contact with Andrew Weaver and Lana Popham. Thank you all for taking the survey! It helped me get an understanding of what you all want for OUR petition. As always, if any of you have any ideas, questions or concerns, please don't be afraid to email at nedtaylor27@gmail.com In solidarity, Ned Taylor
