Ban Assault Weapons Nationally - STOP THE VIOLENCE
The Issue
According to the Gun Violence Archive, in the year 2023 alone, the United States horrifically surpassed 100 mass shootings. Which demonstrates the serious undermining issue of neglect in the government at large and local legislatures across the nation. Many of the shootings take action in traumatizing within walls of someone’s home or public areas such as schools that should be treated as a safe environment instead students learn how to “run, hide, and stay silent” or parks that people should enjoy freely. One of the worst cases on a local standpoint happened this January in California, that left eleven fatalities and injured nine others. Monterey Park, a predominantly Asian-American neighborhood where thousands of residents had gathered on January 21 to celebrate the Lunar New Year, is the most recent community to be torn apart by gun violence. From the moment the 72-year-old gunman allegedly began opening fire at a ballroom dance studio, celebration immediately turned to tragedy.
The disregard for the security regulations in the state are a leading factor to this travesty. None would have been achievable without the selling and marketing of assault weapons. With motivations that tend to expand differently with each story, our team here at ArTES Magnet high school share their own stories concerning racially motivated cases.
We, the ArtesiansTranquility group, envision the future to have equality of protection and safety for all Amercians. By great legislation on the banning of assault weapons nationwide. We are working and promoting as much as possible in our own community but it all starts with you. By signing this petition you’re boosting the voice of the thousands of those who have been lost and have been affected by gun violence. Start with just putting your name on the round table, next change
