Ban animal testing completely
The issue
Hello. I'm 14 years old, and I have a pet guinea pig.
It might not be applicable, because I keep him happy and safe, but I've seen stories and news where animals from guinea pigs to rabbits and even primates get captured and tested on. The restrictions nowadays might blunt the blade, which is animal testing, but either way, the animal is being taken out of its life and put in a different, uncertain one. Even though animal testing has decreased with the introduction of so-called "humane" laws and acts, there remains an undeniable fear for these animals. When a creature is captured, placed in a sterile facility, and made to go through the cold and calculated methods of experimentation, it suffers. It's in distress, and unsure, and scared.
Animal testing, no matter how regulated, will always cause distress and suffering for the creatures that go through it. This applies to research. Though it is unanimous that research, especially in the medical field, can be life-changing and important, it certainly doesn't mean we should endanger a life to try to save another. Instead, we'll work to save a life by developing. In this world with computers that basically think for you, it's not a stretch creating models that you can test on.
Since when did we decide that other animals exist on a lower level than us humans? It's not right, and it's not moral.
The future belongs to a compassionate world where innovation thrives without cruelty. The development of alternative methods, such as in vitro testing, computer modeling, and microdosing in humans, have proven to provide reliable scientific results without the need for animal suffering. It is wholly possible to put empathy and scientific advancement forward simultaneously.
Join me in demanding that legislators and companies listen to the increasing demand for animal-free practices. This might be lesser than a ripple in a huge lake, but a ripple is better than still water. Donations don't matter as much as your support and sign! Thanks, and bye :)
