Ban All Brazilian Butt Lift Surgeries in 2024

The Issue

I've witnessed the devastating effects of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries on countless individuals. This procedure, often sought after for aesthetic reasons, has been causing severe harm to people's bodies and self-esteem. The internal health issues resulting from these surgeries are alarming and cannot be overlooked any longer.

According to a study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, BBL has a higher mortality rate than any other cosmetic surgery - approximately 1 in 3,000 operations result in death due to fat embolism. Besides the risk of death, many survivors suffer from long-term complications such as infection, necrosis (tissue death), wound dehiscence (wound splitting open), abscesses and fat emboli.

Furthermore, this procedure is contributing negatively to body image issues among society. It promotes an unrealistic beauty standard that is damaging people's self-esteem and mental health.

We need urgent action from our lawmakers to ban all BBL surgeries by 2024. This will not only save lives but also help promote healthier body images among our population. Please sign this petition if you believe in protecting individuals from unnecessary harm caused by these dangerous procedures.
