Conventions have become more and more filled with unwanted AI slop vendors, taking the place of real artists, who spend their blood sweat and tears on creating unique art. Oz Comic-Con has failed the community at large by allowing AI vendors within their convention halls, undermining the hard work real artists do in favour of those aiming to earn a quick buck.

Within Artist Alley at Oz Comic-Con there is an expectation from con-goers, that every vendor there has earnt their place, emphasized by the fact Oz Comic-Con vetts their vendors to ensure a certain level
of quality and craftsmanship. Evidently, at Brisbane Oz Comic-Con 2026, Expertise Events (that's the parent company!) chose profits over community by allowing an AI vendor to be allowed within the ranks of
real artists.

Unsurprisingly, this negligence to vett the AI vendor led to clear disappointment from con-goers and artists alike, as well as a physical altercation that unfortunately resulted in two individuals being hospitalized. This is simply unacceptable.

Expertise Events needs to clearly and publicically outline their policies and stance regarding AI vendors.

Oz Comic-Con and all conventions hosted by Expertise Events need to ban AI vendors within their Artist Alley.
