Ban addictive kratom extract products

Ban Kratom ExtractTexas, United States
Created May 25, 2026

The Issue

My husband is addicted to kratom extract products like 70h and Nano Tech Mitragynyne, and we've experienced the devastating impact it can have on an individual's life. Despite our efforts, the widespread availability of these products and the difficulty in accessing legitimate help such as gabapentin, clonidine, or suboxone makes overcoming this addiction incredibly challenging.

Kratom, a substance derived from the leaves of an evergreen tree in Southeast Asia, is promoted as a natural remedy. However, certain extract products hold a severe potential for addiction and dependency. Many users, like my husband, start with the belief that because it's natural, it's safe. But the extraction process significantly increases the potency, creating a heightened risk of abuse and dependence.

The scale of this crisis is accelerating rapidly. From 2015 to 2025, kratom-related exposures reported to the National Poison Data System increased by approximately 1,200%, reaching record levels in 2025. The CDC notes that the sharp spike in 2025 coincides directly with the emergence of high-potency, semi-synthetic formulations including 7-OH.

According to CDC tracking data, the number of overdose deaths in which mitragynine (kratom's primary alkaloid) was detected rose from 866 in 2020 to 1,151 in 2023, with 38 jurisdictions reporting.

Alternatives to cope with addiction, such as gabapentin, clonidine, and suboxone, are often hard to secure for many struggling with kratom dependence. This scarcity of effective treatment options makes the path to recovery daunting and often insurmountable.

We urgently need to address this escalating crisis by calling for a ban on kratom extract products like 70h and Nano Tech Mitragynyne. This action is necessary to protect others from falling into the trap of addiction and to stem the tide of suffering related to this dangerous substance.

Please sign this petition to urge authorities to take immediate and decisive action in banning these harmful kratom extract products. Your support can help save lives and create a safer community for everyone.
