MOE petition to cancel external exams - Bahrain.
Why this petition matters
As an IB student in Bahrain, because of the fact that most of us have had our learning take place Virtually to ensure our safety, the quality of our learning has significantly decreased.
IB, as of now has decided that May 2021 exam will be taken through a dual-route in which some countries will allow for exams to take place whereas others will make the choice for May 2021 students to be assessed in the same way May 2020 students were, through a full assessment of the IA’s, oral assessments and more.
The Ministry of education is urged not to allow for IB external exams to take place in Bahrain, this is because not only is testing students for a program that was studied Virtually for almost two years unfair to the academic capabilities of the students, but also because of the recent increase in covid-19 cases in Bahrain. It does not make sense how Indoor restaurants, gyms, and gatherings are prohibited but students are forced to risk their health and their family’s health by sitting for an exam in order to get the diploma.
