Federal Financial Supervisory Authority(BaFin) had made a modification to their Anti-money laundering act. As a consequence, the Optical character recognition(OCR) system of Postident was rolled back by Deutsche Post for those passports which cannot be read by OCR. They follow the former process of entering the details manually in case of trouble for the OCR to read the passport data sheet. One must request the Deutsche Post staff to enter the details manually because all the staff isn't aware of this change in the process. After receiving the feedback from 19 different nationalities the petition is declared as a victory. Thanks a lot for all those who supported.
