Some good news - we have had some sympathetic media coverage, and an interview and story on Channel Nine News at 6pm today.
And an article in the Sunday Telegraph.
As a result Murray Watt the Minister for Workplace Relations has had to respond. He told Channel 9 that he will request "the issue be considered at the next meeting of the National Workplace Relations Consultative Council, with a view to closing any gap in current workplace laws or paid parental leave rules".
We will hold him to this.
Such a meeting may be after the election on May 3. In the meantime every signature still counts. The more signatures, the more pressure there will be at that meeting to finally change the laws. There are now over 11,000 signatures, please help us get to 20,000 signatures, by sharing the petition.
We are not going to stop until the laws are changed.
Priya's Dad is very proud of Priya's Mum - media interviews are something way outside of her comfort zone, but she is doing this to honour Priya, and make a difference so that no other parents ever have to go through this again.
Thanks again for all of the support, and particularly the comments when signing.
