City of Chilliwack is in talks with Ministry of Forestry Land and Natural Resources, Fraser Valley Illegal Dumping Alliance, Fraser Valley Salmon Society,  and Four Wheel Drive Association of BC, to gate off Gill Rd. River access. Not only is a gate being considered but a fee for overnight camping and free daily use.

These action are being considered to stop Illegal dumping, squatting and the burning of pallets and other materials that litter the river banks with debris.

Please voice your opinions and desires to your local representatives to keep this a free access site.

There is a need to stop illegal activities that make the experience for others an unpleasant one. Those who enjoy the outdoors and the activities that this site offers are sure to have ideas that could help to see this site  kept free of charge, as well as see an improved experience for those have yet to discover this natural playground.

There are enough of us that respect what we are given by nature and want to keep it fun and free or affordable. I suggest that there should be some public group that we can join and contribute a small monthly fee that would fund regular security or policing of this area to stop illegal activities.

There has to be a better way than putting in a gate and charging exorbitant fees for overnight use.
