Cada verano el Ayuntamiento de este municipio, Aliaguilla, como otros muchos en España, organiza las fiestas locales. El plato fuerte de estas grandes celebraciones consiste en soltar una vaquilla, divertirse con ella hasta el agotamiento. Esto no puede ser considerado una corrida de toros, ni tan siquiera tauromaquia. 

Each summer the municipal government of this town, Aliaguilla organizes public festivities. The main course of these big celebrations consists on amusing themselves with a calf until its total exhaustion. This cannot be considered as bullfighting, not even tauromachy. 

Desearía que parasen este tipo de celebraciones pues el dinero que se emplea con estos fines puede ser destinado a otro tipo de actividades. Por ejemplo, en este pueblo no existe un teatro como tal o un cine o nada parecido. Podrían organizar un festival de teatro y la gente podría disfrutar en su propio municipio de una representación en directo sin necesidad de tener que desplazarse a otros lugares. Estoy segura de que muchos de los habitantes de este municipio que residen allí todo el año nunca lo han hecho, o al menos, no lo han hecho con esa motivación. Ni siquiera son conscientes de lo positivo que podría resultar para ellos porque no han tenido nunca la oportunidad de planteárselo. Todos los años sucede lo mismo, una y otra vez.

I want them to stop this kind of “celebrations” because the money they use to organize these things can be assigned to other activities. For example, in this town, there is no theatre or cinema whatsoever. They could organize a theatre festival and people could enjoy in their own town with a real performance without moving to other places to do it. I am sure that many of the inhabitants of this town have never done it. At least, with that purpose. Many of them don´t even know how much good may do it to them cause nobody never gave them the opportunity to think about it. It is always the same thing, again and again.

Me pone enferma. Adoro este lugar y a su gente, profundamente. El municipio se encuentra rodeado de montañas pobladas de hermosos bosques de pinos, plantas aromáticas (lavanda, tomillo, romero...etc), restos arqueológicos, cuevas misteriosas el tiempo en los meses de verano es estupendo, pero a nadie parece importarle nada de todo esto. No soporto la total falta de sensibilidad hacia los animales y hacia el medioambiente en general que se pone de manifiesto con este tipo de comportamientos.

It makes me sick, because I love this place and the people there, deeply. The town is surrounded by mountains crowded with lovely pine trees and aromatic plants (lavender, thyme, rosemary, ..etc), archaeological remains, mysterious caves, the weather during de summer time is great... but nobody apparently cares about all of this. I cannot stand the total lack of sensitivity to animals and to the environment in general that reveals this kind of behaviour.
