I had the pleasure of meeting Jesse King during my time at Penn State, and he quickly became more than just a classmate; he became a true friend. Watching him interact with others, you could see the positive energy and dedication he brought to everything he did. Unfortunately, his journey towards earning his degree was disrupted by a devastating cancer diagnosis. However, his spirit and love for Penn State remain unshaken.

Jesse's story is one of courage, resilience, and unwavering determination. Though he couldn’t complete his degree, his contributions to our community and the university are undeniable. His friends, family, and community members can all attest to the profound impact Jesse has had on us all. We believe that the values he embodies—perseverance, strength, and community spirit—are what Penn State stands for.

We're proposing that Jesse King receives an Honorary Penn State Alumni Award. This honor would not only recognize his unyielding spirit and connection to our university but also serve as an inspiration for others who face similar adversities. It would be a testament that even when faced with unforeseen challenges, one’s bond with an institution and its community can remain strong and impactful.
