The Issue
I Wont Buy if Animals Die
My name is Valeria Delgadillo and I am currently a junior in High School. In todays world we sadly face problems like animal testing, and it should stop. Did you know that over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poison and abused in US labs every year? This is morally wrong and, a cruel act that has to come to an end. As children we are taught the Golden Rule, and all major religions teach principals of nonviolence and kindness. I believe this rule should apply to all living creatures.
I have recently found out that Avon managed to keep testing on animals, even tho they pledged not to. Avon claims that they have a deep respect for animal welfare. They even announced permanent end to animal testing during 1989. They claim to be one of the first cosmetic companies in the world to end animal testing; but what many of us don't know is that they haven't stopped this cruelty. They just moved their labs to China; where the laws do not prohibit them from harming innocent animals. Avon itself claims that “some products may be required by law in a few countries to undergo additional safety testing, including animal testing” this information can be found in their official website avoncompany.com which means that Avon does not actually care about animal welfare. They just have one thing in mind, which is selling their product. Avon puts money in front of anything, and they even go to unmoral limits to obtain it. If they cared enough about animal welfare, they would not be testing on them anywhere in the world.
We as humans have the responsibility to stop this. No one in this world has the right to harm others just like Martin Luther King said “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” Please sign my petition to bring awareness to the problem and help stop Avon from testing on animals anywhere! not just in America.
