A positive step for Proton Therapy in Australia - SA Leadership meeting confirmed

A positive step forward for proton therapy in South Australia and for all Australians.
The kettle is officially on standby.
I have now heard back from Premier Peter Malinauskas, who has confirmed that a meeting will take place. Importantly, Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis MP and Minister for Health and Wellbeing Blair Boyer MP have also been invited to attend.
Whether it is around my kitchen table or in a boardroom, the important thing is that this conversation is now moving forward.
This is a good sign.
It is also encouraging to see Minister Boyer taking the case for proton therapy to Canberra, publicly confirming that he was arguing for South Australia to stay in the running. Keeping proton therapy on the national agenda matters, and it is positive to see this issue continuing to be raised at the levels where decisions need to be made.
Meeting details are still being finalised, with mid-August looking likely.
Thank you to every person who emailed the Premier’s office in support of this meeting, shared our message, raised their concerns, or continues to stand behind this important cause. Your voices are being heard.
Momentum is building, but we are not there yet.
We must keep our voices strong, keep raising this issue, and keep standing together for the children, families and adults who deserve access to proton therapy here at home.
Together, we can create change.
