Stop Indoor Intensive Pig Farming in Australia

Stop Indoor Intensive Pig Farming in Australia
The Issue
There are serious animal welfare issues surrounding the use of indoor intensive pig farming in Australia. These barren environments have a lack of enrichment, sow and boar confinement for pigs, all of which are vital components for pigs that are required under the RSCPA Approved Farming Scheme Standard- Pigs. Piglet husbandry procedures are not permitted, yet some pig farms in Australia use husbandry procedures including: ear notching, tail docking and clipping. This cannot go on, as it is a inhumane, painful (for the pigs) and unsustainable process that happens in secret, with the majority of the population not knowing what continues to happen in factory farms.
