Congratulations all, we have another win!
NSW DPIE announced a £15million Streets as Shared Spaces.program on Friday in the Sydney Morning Herald.
"Under a new $15 million fund, NSW councils can apply for grants of up to $100,000 for immediate pilot projects, such as widening footpaths and creating cycle lanes, and up to $1 million for longer term projects such as extra crossing points and trialling lower speed limits."
ACTION: Tell them where the interventions should go!

Still some issues:
- This does not grant delegation powers to council to just get on with it. Thus convincing Transport For NSW and other state transport departments is still key. This program will require transport committees and various other approvals. Bureaucracy not removed.
- Projects won't actually start till July - Sept.
- There are 128 councils in NSW, so if every council applied for $100,000 that is $12,000,000. At $1 million that is only 15 councils. Doesn't go very far.
- Other states are still far from acting - more work needed.
