Plant2Protect is a non-governmental, non-profit, environmental youth organisation that is creating awareness about the global impacts of deforestation, welcoming people of all walks of life who are passionate about helping and changing environmental issues that society faces. We believe in the power of ideas that ending deforestation is our best chance to conserve wildlife, nature and defend the rights of forest communities. Since the very beginning we have helped people seek a deeper understanding about the planet’s ecological problems. Together we are building a platform where we plan to approach deforestation issues globally and locally with effective and rewarding solutions. Something as simple as planting a tree can make a lasting difference. Plant2Protect’s main goal is to change and upgrade the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, which is “Australia’s national environment law makes it an offence for any person to take an action that is likely to have a significant impact on matters protected by the EPBC Act, unless they have the approval of the Australian environment Minister” (Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, 2009). We plan to do this by creating a sub law where when every 1 tree is cut down another is planted so if 25 trees are cut down, 25 are planted. It is important to protect the environment because at the end of the day it is a foundation to civilisation, essential for healthy living and is one of the quickest ways to control global warming.
