Our elderly Mum and 235 other Aussies from the cruise ship, Costa Victoria, have been taken to Rome.

One case of coronavirus has been reported to the passengers and that person was medivacced from the ship. 

There are a significant number of elderly people and passengers with other vulnerabilities (cancer or immune challenging conditions). Many are scared about the risks they face in Italy given the country is unable to cope with it’s own health needs.

Health screening has been conducted and they are being monitored. We now understand plans are being worked on to fly them home. They have been confined to cabins for days (many in tiny rooms with no windows) and have limited communications. They need to be able to move around enough to be healthy and get home. They will need to be in quarantine here and have all been health screened. 

Please support bringing them home and their being provided with regular information and care while they are stuck on the ship.
