I’m not normally one to say “Let’s have a royal commission” but I really think one is necessary for what has and is still happening currently in Australia. There are many, many viewpoints for this continuing event and getting some clarification for a way forward for the country is a must. No one agency, political party, researcher or member of the public has all the answers and so a far reaching enquiry is the only way to reduce the risk of this happening again! 

There are many aspects for such an enquiry. I’ve listed some below. Please support this proposal.

- Role of numerous state vs federal agencies.

- should there be a federal emergency agency.

- hazard reduction burning and land planning.

- involvement of military much earlier.

- building on from the current adhoc arrangements.

- fire proof shelter availability.

- better non-sensational media reporting

- widely advertised consequences for looters and firebugs.

the list goes on!
