As many of you have heard, Austin Independent school district has denied 940 teachers and staff accommodations to work safely from home this spring. The majority of these accommodations were in place for the fall semester and are now being taken away from our teachers. Teachers like Mr.Myers who have a heart condition, and countless others. These are teachers and staff we need, and we need them to be able to feel safe. I ask that we keep fighting, keep emailing, sign other petitions, and advocate for our teachers at every level possible. I have begun putting together a collection of teachers’ stories I hope to share with you all soon. Please do not forget about this issue, there is still a fight left to fight. I will be sending out weekly updates of petitions, advocacy groups, and things you can do to get involved.
