TRAFFIC AND PARKING COMMITTEE MEETING 10/2

I am so excited to tell you all that the Traffic and Parking Committee meeting went exceptionally well this morning. All of my and Mr. Andrae's suggestions were taken into consideration, and the campaign does not stop here. Our next step is to get into contact with SGA/Administration to find out where we go from here. Our biggest suggestion is to ultimately provide more parking for commuter students on campus. However, we all must understand that Parking Services only has a limited amount of funding to provide for the building of parking decks because a bulk of their revenue is dedicated to a "General Fund," which cannot be used for this goal. That being said, a $20 increase in parking passes is being considered to compensate for the lack of funding in their department, and that funding will ONLY be allotted to Parking Services (if approved by Administration). If the funding is provided, then the Facilities Division will decide where the parking decks will be built. These decisions are not set in stone - this was one of the major topics we discussed this morning. You all know that my goal is to remain transparent and honest about this campaign, and I will not stop fighting until this issue comes to fruition - we're not done here.
