Donald J. Trump attempted a coup.

As a country, we need to start accepting this by believing the following; that we are no longer a shining example of Democracy, for the rest of the World. It’s one thing to say the words but another, to believe it in our hearts. We haven’t even begun to heal from what happened on January 6. We can’t heal or move forward, it’s textbook in dealing with the different stages of grief, only compounded by a deadly Pandemic. 

Next month, it will be a year since the deadly attack on our US Capitol and what has changed? Many of us are stuck in a state of disbelief, only exacerbated by a lack of accountability and a feeling that America has permanently lost its ability to apply the rule of law for the most atrocious act witnessed, on our Democracy. 

We are all tired and feeling defeated. This isn’t easy but I’m here to keep the fire ignited under each of you and remind you that our voices have power in unity. 

Keep fighting, keep demanding accountability to #HoldTrumpAccountable so that we can heal and one day move forward.
