Well it’s been quite a hectic 72 hours and all we can do is keep going with your support. The biggest issue (besides what you will read below) is that the Scenic Rim Regional Council are now “sitting” on their decision as to whether the declare bandit as a “dangerous dog”. The issue here is that the Animal Management Act is very light on time frames and they will use this as an ongoing punitive tool against him. The other emerging issue that we now see is that the RSPCA have a major conflict of interest between revenue and welfare. The cosy relationship they have with the Councils is why they have provided us with no information ongoing re our original cruelty complaint. It looks like they did a deal with the Scenic Rim Council tp allow them to move Bandit to MBRC run by the RSPCA!. The strange thing is the Moreton Bay Councils Matt Woolley, Regulatory Services Manager says Bandit is with the RSPCA! The RSPCA continue to play the shell game with what Act they come under and now have basically abdicated to allow further cruelty to Bandit to occur. A very wealthy fiefdom! As per my prior post we got to see Bandit briefly on Saturday but the RSPCA now say they won’t let us visit and are shipping him back to the Scenic Rim Regional Council. Yes it’s hard to believe that the organisation accountable for the Animal Protection Act in QLD are now sending him back to the Chief Torturer, Mark Duncan at the SRRC. As per Mims note on my last update mass murderers, terrorists etc. get better treatment, exercise regimes etc than a 18-month-old cattle dog pet. Obviously we are not happy that the RSPCA refused our visit on Saturday and haven’t vaccinated him. I think the thing that upset us the most are the ongoing comments from Claire McCarthy,Manager at DAKABIN/RSPCA/MBRC (it changes each time depending on their agenda) is that “We have no control…it’s the Scenic Rim Councils dog”…in front of Sarah. Friday: I had a telecon with the Local Government Minister Mark Fulners Senior Policy Advisor who appears to be expediting an explanation from the Scenic Rim Regionsl Council Mayor, Greg Christensen. The letter from the Minister went out on Friday. Saturday: Just when we thought we could trust the RSPCA to care for Bandit we are finding they like punitive action just like the Scenic Rim Regional Council. So as per the prior post we were refused access on Saturday with no notice after driving for 1 ½ hours. On Saturday night for the first time in my life I received an email from a Lawyer! The Councils Bush Lawyer Mark Williams wrote a nasty letter saying we are now banned by the MBRC/RSPCA ! Evidently the Manager Claire McCarthy wasn’t happy with how upset we were being refused access and her “forgetting” to vaccinate Bandit on 11/10/17 as she agreed to do. We were not happy and told the Manager that she could have called us before we drove up and she is not allowing us to exercise Bandit. Sunday: I wrote to the QLD RSPCA CEO Mark Townend requesting an urgent meeting and to please not to send Bandit back to to the SRRC. Today: I received a very nasty email back from Mark Townend CEO RSPCA QLD who has obviously been in the job too long. 17 years and is a former Logan Council person for 20 years. I don’t think I have ever received such an unprofessional and inaccurate letter from a person who is accountable for critical Animal Welfare enforcement and is also covered by the QLD Government Code of Conduct as a provider. I note that he doesn’t seem to care about Bandit, his treatment as it’s all about the RSPCA! Here is a highlight from his emails today (Its ok I don’t take it personally but it’s a shocker). This is from the CEO ================================================ From: Mark Townend Date: Monday, 16 October 2017 at 11:33 am To: "Paul.cutbush1@bigpond.com" Cc: Local Government Subject: Re: Attention Manager - RE: Bandit Visitation 16/10/17    Mr Cutbush I wouldn't be wasting your time travelling to Dakabin as you were advised by Scenic Rim council lawyers King and Company that visitations have been cancelled. You again need to be reminded the animal was seized under local government legislation not animal welfare legislation. You obviously use a modus operandi of threats, bullying and harassment which will not intimidate myself of the RSPCA. DAF oversee the RSPCA in QLD and I have major concerns at their handling of the cruelty complaint and their lack of care for Bandit. I have also written to the RSPCA CEO Australia requesting a meeting to discuss the issues and unprofessional response from Mark Towend.
