Novato City Council Targets Zero Waste

In a show of commitment to its Zero Waste goals, the Novato City Council has written a letter to Amazon asking that Amazon boxes be picked up and reused. The letter, signed by Mayor Eric Lucan, says:

Dear Mr. Bezos,

We are writing to express our support for a local, community-driven initiative that encourages Amazon.com to implement a pilot pickup program for cardboard boxes in Marin County, California, in which delivery trucks pick up Amazon boxes on subsequent deliveries and return them to Amazon warehouses for reuse.

The City of Novato is the eighth community in Marin to support the Amazon to Reuse Boxes Initiative, joining Mill Valley, Larkspur, San Rafael, Belvedere, Muir Beach, San Anselmo, and Fairfax. All have indicated that the initiative would further their Climate Action goals.

Kudos to the Novato City Council for acting on their zero waste goals.
