Living in Wrexham, we have personally experienced the challenges of accessing the Maelor Hospital due to limited public transport options. These experiences have inspired me to launch this petition, urging The Local Health Board  to consider implementing a dedicated shuttle bus service to serve Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

The need for efficient and accessible transportation is critical for both local residents and visitors. The Wrexham Maelor Hospital, being a major healthcare facility in our region, should be easily reachable for everyone, including patients, hospital staff, and visitors, regardless of their access to a private vehicle. With the introduction of a shuttle bus service, we can ensure timely access to essential healthcare services, prevent visitation delays, and reduce the burden on those who rely solely on public transport.

Implementing a shuttle bus service would have far-reaching benefits for our community. It would reduce traffic congestion, lower carbon emissions by encouraging public transportation, and boost local economic activity by making our town more accessible.

Several successful models around the UK, such as the shuttle services in place for large hospital complexes and cities with prominent sports teams, showcase the viability and positive impact of such a service. We believe Wrexham could greatly benefit from adopting a similar approach.
