According to Chris Elenor who attended the Ashfield Council meeting, the motions were re-worded and included opposition to WestConnex as a whole, and calls to halt tenders and acquisitions, release of the business case and a parliamentary enquiry. The motions were then passed by council. This strengthening was made possible by your support with 60 emails being sent to each councillor prior to the meeting and another 40 or so during its course. It's great to be able to get 100 switched on people at short notice to push for the re-wording of a council motion. There are now 4 councils in clear opposition to WestConnex as a whole, including City of Sydney, Leichhardt and Marrickville. When the exact wording is published, there will be a final update declaring victory and this petition will be closed.
