Petition updateSave trees and affordability in South SlopeRRI's November Update
South Slope Tree Preservation Coalition
Nov 23, 2020

Dear Friends of Ravenscroft Reserve Initiative,

A tree-mendous thank you to all who participated in the Asheville GreenWorks’ on-line Rootball auction and celebrated OAKtober with us. It was a month of beautiful outdoor moments in Western North Carolina, especially needed during this challenging time. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes out to local Asheville businesses ENO, Waterways, and LAH Sculpture for your generous contributions to RRI which helped make these events a success!

We continue to move forward towards preserving the urban forest of 11 Collier Avenue and building on the vison of a natural oasis for everyone to enjoy. Last week we finalized a Letter of Intent with the owner of the property which sets a timeline to purchase by September 1, 2021. We are gathering ideas from community stakeholders and with the help of a local Asheville landscape architect we are creating an Idea Book illustrating an “urban jewelry box” that showcases the natural beauty and unique history of Asheville’s South Slope.

As supporters of RRI, what would you like to see included in this vision?

Thank you for supporting Asheville’s urban forest, we are very thankful for you!
