End discrimination against sexworkers!

End discrimination against sexworkers!
The Issue
The sex and pornography laws in Arkansas are very out dated and discriminatory. This makes for finding normal vanilla work a huge hassle! We are people with rights, we do our work consensually and safely, we are of sound mind, and it's our body our choice. Why shouldn't we be able to decide what we do in our sexual lives? The treatment of content creators, content sellers, and cam artists is absolutely absurd! Pornography isn't taboo, being nude isn't taboo, and letting other adults partake in watching or joining isn't illegal! It's unfair that we live in a society where getting a female inebriated with alcohol in hopes to take her home is acceptable but being in a sound mind and recording with another sound minded Adult and putting it on the internet isn't. I have seen so many videos through social media of drunk girls being taken advantage of and that hasn't ever been shut down or spoke about. Let a person upload a video to a porn site to sell it though, they get jail time. Please, step into the 2020s, realize that we aren't living in the 40s, and come to terms with this not being a Bible Belt anymore. We are wives, husbands, parents just trying to make a living to put food on the table, keep the lights on, and keep clothes on our backs! This is our choice, we aren't being forced to do it! The laws need to be looked at, updated, and changed to fit the century that we are now living in. I really do hope that you can take a step back and see how they are negatively effecting lives of innocent and hard working people. Far too often, workers are blocked from housing, banking, education, and from being hired by companies because of their former employment. The stories are all too common. Performers have been denied access to fair banking or blocked from using payment processors such as Paypal because of their line of work.
Until occupational discrimination is deemed illegal, workers from our industry will continue to be mistreated. As the union for adult workers, the Adult Performance Artists Guild (APAG) we are working to fight against this discrimination and we’ve begun the conversation with government officials to have occupation added as a protected class. As part of our 2021 agenda, APAG announced our intentions to take this fight to Washington, D.C., and will be amplifying the voices of those discriminated against to their representatives.
