As an Iranian-American, we do not support Yassamin Ansari.

As an Iranian-American, we do not support Yassamin Ansari.
The Issue
We, the undersigned, express our serious concern regarding the public statements and political positioning of Yassamin Ansari on issues relating to Iran, U.S. foreign policy, and the ongoing conflict affecting the Iranian people.
At a time when Iran is facing intense political repression, conflict, and humanitarian crisis, the central voice that must be prioritized is the voice of the Iranian people themselves—inside the country and in the diaspora.
For years, millions of Iranians have taken extraordinary risks to make one demand unmistakably clear: they are calling for regime change and the end of the current ruling system. This demand has been repeatedly demonstrated through nationwide protests, civil resistance, and sustained public sacrifice.
We are deeply concerned that Representative Ansari’s recent public messaging places greater emphasis on partisan political conflict in the United States—particularly criticism and attacks directed at figures such as Donald Trump—rather than clearly centering the urgent aspirations of the Iranian people.
This approach risks distorting the reality on the ground in Iran and may unintentionally shift attention away from the core issue: the Iranian people’s demand for fundamental political change and a future free from authoritarian rule.
We believe that any public official speaking on Iran carries a responsibility to accurately reflect the priorities of the Iranian people, to avoid narratives that minimize or dilute their demands, and to support policies that align with their call for freedom and democratic change.
Therefore, we call for greater clarity, accountability, and alignment with the voices of Iranians who are risking everything for liberty.
The Iranian people have spoken clearly. Their demand is not symbolic reform—it is fundamental change.
