As a mother, I demand the harshest lawful punishments & fast justice for anyone who rapes

The Issue

I am a mother of a 3-year-old and speak for millions of Indian parents who live in daily fear for our children’s safety. The horror of sexual crimes against children is multiplied when justice is delayed, diluted, or denied.

We demand urgent, decisive reform so offenders face the fullest consequences the law allows and survivors receive lifelong protection and care.

We call on the Government of India, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Parliament, and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to immediately implement the following reforms:

1.Maximum lawful punishment: Amend and enforce statutes so convicted child rapists receive the harshest penalties permitted under Indian law — including mandatory life imprisonment without parole for rape of minors and the option of capital punishment only in the most aggravated cases, subject to the highest judicial safeguards and appeal rights.

2.Fast-track justice: Create legally mandated fast-track courts for all child sexual assault cases with strict timelines (e.g., investigation & trial phases with statutory maximums) to prevent delay and trauma.

3.Public offender registry & community alerts: Maintain a secure, access-controlled registry of convicted child sexual offenders available to law-enforcement and local authorities, with strict data-protection rules and review procedures.

4.Accountability for failure: Strict disciplinary and legal consequences for officials (police, prosecutors) whose negligence causes delay, tampering, or case collapse.

5.Mandatory survivor support & compensation: Guaranteed, lifelong medical care, funded psychological therapy, rehabilitation services, educational & financial compensation, and anonymity/protections for victims and families.

6.Transparent sentencing guidelines: National guidelines to ensure consistent, strong sentences for child sexual crimes across states and courts.
Special protections for very young and repeatedly victimized children: Distinct, stricter provisions (investigation, evidence-preservation, institutional safeguards) recognizing the unique harm to young children.

7.Independent oversight: A national oversight body to audit investigations, track case outcomes, and report publicly on improvements and failures in child-safety enforcement.

We do not seek vigilante justice. We seek a system that protects children, deters the worst offenders, and ensures that those who prey on children face the full force of the law while victims receive lifelong care and dignity.

Each morning brings another story that tears us apart — another child harmed, another family shattered. These headlines don’t just shock us for a day; they live inside us as fear, sleepless nights, and a burning need for change.

If you agree that our children must be protected at all costs, please sign and share this petition.
