Art Matters: Join the Movement to Fund Florida's Creative Communities!

The Issue

Florida’s arts community is in peril! Just recently, Governor Ron DeSantis vetoed over $32 million in essential funding for our local theaters, museums, festivals, and community programs. He claims this was a move for fiscal responsibility, but this cut strikes at the heart of our vibrant culture and creative economy. The arts are not just pretty pictures—they generate $5.8 billion annually and support over 91,000 jobs across our state! Without this funding, we risk losing jobs, artistic opportunities, and the very spirit that makes Florida unique.

If we allow these cuts to remain, we’re not just silencing artists—we’re also denying our youth essential avenues for growth. Arts programs in K-12 education are disappearing, robbing students of the chance to develop creativity, critical thinking, and social skills. Research shows that students involved in the arts are 20% more likely to graduate high school and score higher on tests. Imagine the potential we’re squandering! Without action, we’ll see a future generation lacking the creativity and resilience needed to thrive.

The time for action is NOW! We must unite to urge Governor DeSantis and Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. to restore funding for the arts and education. This petition will be presented at the upcoming legislative session, and we need YOUR voice to show that Florida cares about the arts and demands funding restoration! Call out DeSantis and the education budget boards who are making these crucial decisions. Together, we are powerful!

Join The Greenhouse Creative Collective!

At The Greenhouse Creative Collective, we’re taking a stand by organizing block parties across Florida that celebrate art, music, vulnerability, and creativity. These events not only raise awareness about the critical importance of arts funding but also offer community forums, and an array of all-abilities art workshops for children and the elderly. We want to expand our music lessons and pay our talented educators! To continue these vital programs, we are asking for donations from passionate individuals who believe in a thriving arts community.

If you believe in creativity, education, and a right to freedom of expression in Florida, NOW is the time to act! Let’s show our leaders that the arts matter to ALL of us—sign the petition today!
