This is a reminder to attend this week's Conservation Commission meeting on the matter of 47 Spy Pond Lane. The meeting is on Thursday, Sept.5 and the matter of Lot 1/A is scheduled for 7:45pm, Second floor Conference Room, Town Hall Annex, 730 Massachusetts Ave.
At this meeting the Con Comm will discuss the item and make a decision. The public is welcome to attend and observe the discussion and proceedings but cannot participate in the discussion. It is still important to show that the public cares about this item so if you can, please attend. Public engagement is important in showing the Con Comm that the town cares about enforcing our regulations and protecting Spy Pond and other Arlington wetlands.
To recap, this is about a proposed development of a second house on the 47 Spy Pond Lane lot. The developer wants to build a very large house that extends well in the 100' protected buffer zone. If this is allowed this will set a negative precedent allowing new construction deep in the protected wetlands buffer zone. The wetlands' buffer provides very important protection to the pond, wildlife, erosion prevention, and other benefits.
Thank You again for your attention on this matter. Please share widely.
