Reminder to attend tonight's 11/15 meeting at 8:15 p.m. The Con Comm indicated at the 11/1 meeting that they will make a decision on Seaver's proposed development on Spy Pond after the 11/15 meeting so this is the final opportunity for the public to share our comments and opposition to this proposal. The protected buffer is Spy Pond's primary defense against negative impacts such as nutrient runoff, water pollution, siltation, erosion, vegetation change, and habitat destruction. If this proposed development allowing 2 houses to be built that extend deep into the 100 foot buffer zone around Spy Pond goes through, it will set a terrible new precedent for building on Spy Pond, Mystic Lake, and other Arlington Wetlands.
The public's presence continues to matter a great deal to show the Con Comm that we care about protecting Spy Pond. If you haven't already done so, please register your attendance at https://linkto.run/p/BHIRQ8DD.
The Con Comm hearing will be held tonight Thursday 11/15 at 8:15pm in the O'Neill Room at the Arlington Police Station, 112 Mystic Avenue. Please attend. Also, please note that this is a different location than previous meetings.
If you cannot attend and want to register your concerns, you can send comments to the Con Comm administrator at: ESullivan@town.arlington.ma.us and please note that all comments must be received by 7 p.m. on Thursday, 11/15.
Also, there is still a need to cover the growing legal costs to fight this proposal. We are using the services of environmental lawyer Liz Pyle, who has been critical in this fight. If you can contribute to the legal expenses, please do so at: https://www.gofundme.com/protect-spy-pond . Any amount is appreciated.
