Petition updateJoin Us In Protecting Spy PondHelp with Funding and Final 10/6 hearing for 47 Spy Pond

The fight against building two large houses at 47 Spy Pond is finally in the home stretch. The last Con Comm meeting on September 15 went very well for us, and it is due in large part to the efforts of our attorney, Elizabeth Pyle, who has given compelling legal arguments and has clearly influenced the Con Comm. Her arguments were even cited by Con Comm as the basis for rejecting another recent project. The decision on 47 Spy Pond will likely have an impact on similar projects which encroach on protected wetlands in Arlington. While the matter is expected to be closed at the hearing this Thursday, and we are optimistic about the outcome, the legal bill for Attorney Pyle's services has exceeded our original estimate, due to the number of delays and continuances over the past few months. We are trying to raise additional funds to cover the remaining bill. With 500 supporters behind this petition, we're confident we can raise this amount, so please, take a few minutes and help out. Adding to the previous amount that you helped us raise, our new cumulative funding target is now $4000. For smaller donations, please visit the funding page at https://www.change.org/f/fees-for-legal-representation-at-the-con-comm-hearing-on-july-14 (Please disregard the original $2000 amount on the funding page. Our goal is to get to $4000.) For larger donations of $50 or more, please consider writing a check, as this site charges an 8% service fee. You may send me an e-mail to sixtysecondrun-spypond@yahoo.com, and I will respond with instructions. Thanks again for your continued support over the last few months. As always, please make an effort to attend the meeting Thursday evening and make your presence felt.
