I’m pleased to be a member of a group of people such as yourselves. I find myself, however, in a somewhat awkward situation at this time. I know who all of you are (roughly) because Change.org has shared your name and your home town with me, but it has not shared your email addresses with me. So, unless I already have your contact information because you are a previous friend of mine, we cannot speak with one another except through the update and comment areas of this petition. Consequently, there is no way to privately let you know who the rest of the members are or to put you in touch with one another, if you so desire. I realize that it is possible that there may be some of you who wish to remain incognito or simply have no need for additional input in your life. Regardless, your support of, and membership in, this society is appreciated by all of us. Unless I receive an email from you specifically asking me to share your name and email address with others in this society, your email address will be known only to Change.org and your name will remain known only to Change.org and myself. I believe it’s better to sort this out in a way that everyone is comfortable with while we are still a small group. As our society grows, I’m sure we will have to adapt.
