On days when fireworks are legal such as New Year’s Eve and The Fourth of July many people and pets are subjected to unnecessary and harmful stress. This is generally due to the extremely loud noise generated by both professional and civilian fireworks displays. Many pets are left traumatized by the commotion. Furthermore, the racket can be distressing for veterans suffering from PTSD, people with autism, and others with sensitivities. This situation is both regrettable and avoidable, as quiet fireworks exist and are often even more colorful. The state of Arizona should take action and ban loud fireworks now.
